Jeremiah 46:10

Adam Clarke
Bible Commentary

For this is the day of the Lord God of hosts - The prophet represents this as a mighty sacrifice, where innumerable victims were slain.

Albert Barnes
Notes on the Whole Bible

Rather, But that “day belongeth to the Lord Yahweh of hosts.” They march forth in haughty confidence, but that day, the day to which they are looking forward in proud hope of victory, is Yahweh‘s day, a day on which they will be the victims sacrificed in His honor.

Matthew Henry
Concise Bible Commentary
The whole word of God is against those who obey not the gospel of Christ; but it is for those, even of the Gentiles, who turn to Him. The prophecy begins with Egypt. Let them strengthen themselves with all the art and interest they have, yet it shall be all in vain. The wounds God inflicts on his enemies, cannot be healed by medicines. Power and prosperity soon pass from one to another in this changing world.
Ellen G. White
Faith and Works, 33.3

The day of God's vengeance cometh—the day of the fierceness of His wrath. Who will abide the day of His coming? Men have hardened their hearts against the Spirit of God, but the arrows of His wrath will pierce where the arrows of conviction could not. God will not far hence arise to deal with the sinner. Will the false shepherd shield the transgressor in that day? Can he be excused who went with the multitude in the path of disobedience? Will popularity or numbers make any guiltless? These are questions which the careless and indifferent should consider and settle for themselves. FW 33.3
