24. The Canaanites. Sometimes, as in 8, the “Canaanites” are spoken of as a single nation, along with other tribes. At other times, however, the term is used in a larger, inclusive sense for all the inhabitants of Canaan, of whatever tribe they might be. Here it is used in this wider sense.
