13. Ramah. This city lay 1.9 (3 ) beyond Gibeah. The two cities are on other occasions mentioned together (Isa. 10:29; Hosea 5:8). Perhaps the Levite knew that Gibeah did not have a good reputation, and that it would be better to proceed to Ramah if possible.
