25. His brethren. The “brethren” of Shebuel were his kindred of the family of Eliezer, son of Moses and brother of Gershom, namely, Rehabiah, Jeshaiah, etc. The object of this verse is to show the extraction of Shelomith ( 26). This Shelomith is not to be confused with Shelomith the Gershonite ( 23:9) nor with Izharite ( 23:18; 24:22).
